What deep cleaning actually means

Routine cleaning is designed to hold a property steady. It keeps surfaces clear, floors presentable and bathrooms hygienic, but it deliberately skips the slow work — the grease film on the extractor canopy, the limescale creeping across the shower screen, the dust sitting on top of door frames, the crumbs at the back of a cupboard, the seal of a washing machine. None of that is visible on a casual glance, and all of it accumulates.

Deep cleaning goes after exactly those things. We plan the visit room by room rather than task by task, so nothing gets half-finished. Every surface is cleaned in a top-down order, which means dust and residue always fall onto areas we have not yet reached rather than onto work that is already done. Appliances are opened up and cleaned internally. Cupboards and wardrobes are emptied of dust rather than wiped on the outside. Grout, silicone and seals are treated with the right chemistry and given dwell time rather than a quick scrub.

Room by room: what we actually do

The kitchen

The kitchen takes the longest and it should. The oven is opened up, the door glass, racks, trays and interior are degreased and the seals checked. The fridge and freezer are cleaned inside, shelf by shelf, with seals wiped where mould collects. The washing machine drawer, rubber seal and drum are cleaned, and the dishwasher filter, spray arms and seals are cleared. On top of the appliances, we degrease the hob, extractor canopy and splashback, clean cupboards and drawers inside and out, descale the sink and taps, and finish the worktops and floor.

Bathrooms and en-suites

Limescale and soap scum are treated with surface-safe descalers and given dwell time rather than scrubbed dry. Grout is worked line by line, surface mould on silicone is treated, and shower screens are brought back to clear glass. Toilets, basins, baths and shower trays are sanitised inside and out, chrome and mirrors are polished streak-free, and extractor vents are cleared of dust. Floors are scrubbed and grout lines brightened.

Bedrooms

Wardrobes and drawers are cleaned inside and out where they're accessible. Every surface, shelf, ledge and headboard is dusted, under-bed and behind-furniture areas are vacuumed, and mirrors and glass are polished. Mattresses and upholstered headboards can be professionally extracted as an add-on.

Living and dining rooms

Throughout the property

Internal windows, frames, sills and tracks are cleaned, sockets and light switches degreased, radiator exteriors and safely accessible gaps dusted, and cobwebs cleared from ceilings and corners. The last pass of the day is a dedicated sanitising round of high-touch points — door handles, handrails, switches, taps and remotes.

Why professional deep cleaning is worth it

The honest answer is time and equipment. A deep clean done properly in a three-bedroom London house is a full working day for two trained people. What it costs and how we price it

Deep cleaning is priced on the property rather than by the hour, so the number you're quoted is the number you pay. We start from the same room-based structure as our end of tenancy service — a core charge plus a rate per bedroom and per bathroom, with an adjustment for houses — then add the kitchen appliance bundle, which is always included, and a deep-clean uplift covering the additional hours, equipment and sanitising the service requires. Properties in heavier condition carry a condition multiplier, which we confirm from photos before booking rather than discovering on the day.

Optional add-ons are separate and entirely up to you: professional carpet and upholstery extraction, mattresses, balconies and patios, accessible exterior windows, and extractor fan cleaning.
